    Thursday Night, as the final out hit Emma Hicks's glove, the Pace Patriots cliched their fifth consecutive trip to the state final four. The Patriots took a 4-0 victory over the Navarre Raiders in the two teams' fourth matchup this season. 

Starting in the circle, Hannah DeMarcus pitched a complete game shutout, allowing just one hit over seven innings. She struck out nine Raiders and issued no walks. Libby Lewis got the start for Navarre, pitching three and two-thirds innings and giving up one run on three hits, with five strikeouts and two walks.

The scoreboard showed zeros until Ashley Pickard was walked and the loaded bases brought in one score in the fourth inning. 

Grayson Cox and Kamryn Pierce led the way offensively, each picking up two hits.

 Pierce and Pickard both tallied two RBIs apiece. The Patriots worked deep into counts at the plate, collecting six walks throughout the game. 

The Patriots, with no errors recorded, led the way with a strong defensive attack. Lana Gonzales led the effort with nine fielding chances. Navarre also played solid defense, avoiding any fielding mistakes and turning one double play. Renee Hester was the lone Raider to record a hit, going 1-for-2 at the plate. Nadia Rivera led Navarre in fielding chances with six.

The Patriots will travel south next week to play in the state-championship tournament with the Semi-final game at 10am or 12pm EST on Friday, and a possible championship game at 2pm EST on Saturday. The Patriots will be the defending champions in Orlando after clinching the 2024 6A Title.

Pace High Indoor Percussion Finalists!

Pace High School Indoor Percussion traveled to Dayton, OH last week for the  2024 WGI World Championships - PSO Finals They placed 7 th  in the Nation in Percussion Scholastic Open Class.  https://wgi.org/scores/# This group performed 3 times (Thur-Fri-Sat) for Pre-Lims, Semi-Finals and Finals.  Prelims- Pace was in round 3 of 4 rounds and placed 2 nd  place  (44 groups competing) Semi-Finals- Pace in round 2 of 2, tied for 4 th  place  (24 groups competing) Finals- Pace placed 7 th  out of 15 finalists This amazing group of percussionists paid their own way through fundraising and parent contributions, practiced multiple evenings per week and held many Saturday Camps 8am-9pm and performed locally and regionally throughout the season, undefeated, to be invited to WGI World in Dayton.  Pace Indoor Percussion were the "underdogs" going into this steep competition and showed the country that Pace, FL has what it takes to be recognized ...
